A Bit About the Last: Weeknotes

The entry prior to this is actually a weeknote. I didn’t really want to call it that per se, so we’re calling it “Recently.” I learned about it from our recent client, Central who publish their own weeknotes.

Bryan Boyer maintains a nifty little site, weeknotes.com that collects some of the more popular ones which include BERG, who seem to have started it all. Central gets their inspiration from them. Anyway, weeknotes.com, there’s a great collection of weeknotes there to peruse.

I’ve always been fond of connecting the dots — just as I am with tracking musicians across other bands and what groups they’ve played in before, I did the same with the web industry very early on. I liked knowing that so-and-so did this before doing that. I’m a geek about that for some odd reason. Actors too.

This is just another, more personal way to do it.

It’s a nice habit — stepping back from the nit and grit and taking a look at the ecosystem of the studio from a larger perspective. Where are the connections, what’s everyone’s status, how are client projects moving along and how are our own internal projects doing. It’s a way to gauge the health of the studio. Are we doing well? Could we do better? Is the culture good? Are the clients we’re working with happy and are we happy doing the work for them? I like this.

As we’ve grown to four, it feels essential to care and nurture what we have.
